The entire series of the much-loved BBC sitcom is set in occupied France during the Second World War. Double entendres abound at the Cafe Rene in the French village of Nouvion as lusty lothario proprietor Rene Artois and his tuneless wife Edith aid and abet the resistance effort in their own inimitable way.

This is a classic series where much of the catchphrases are still muttered, “Good moaning”. It is very funny and has some lovely characters.
