The kingdom of the Six Duchies is on the brink of civil war when news breaks that the crown prince is father to a bastard son and feels he must abdicate. The child’s name is Fitz, and people despise him. He spends his time in the castle stables, with only the company of the king’s fool and the ragged children of the lower city. However it is his unusual affinity with animals that provide Fitz with any comfort. To be useful to the crown, Fitz trains as an assassin and learns how to use the traditional magic of the Farseer family. But his tutor wants to discredit, even kill him. Fitz must survive, for his destiny may be to save the kingdom.

This is an amazing start to an awesome trilogy. The storyline is engaging so much so it’s binge worthy reading. Also the book is well written and the characters have great depth. I wish I was like you and discovering it for the first time again.
