Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Movie Review: Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) is a good boy from a poor family. He lives in a run down house with his mother (Helena Bonham Carter) and father (Noah Taylor) and both pairs of grandparents. Also they live near the mysterious chocolate factory. No one sees a single worker going in or coming out of the factory, or catches a glimpse of Willy Wonka himself, yet, chocolate is still being made and shipped to shops all over the world. One day Willy Wonka announces he will open his factory and reveal ‘all of its secrets and magic’ to five children who find golden tickets hidden inside five random Wonka chocolate bars.  Charilie finds a golden ticket and goes on an amazing adventure.

7/10

This is a darker adaptation of Roald Dahl‘s novel but is still enjoyable to watch. Also the acting is good from all the cast. Plus the soundtrack is great.

The original version ‘Willy Wonker and the Chocolate Factory‘ is better though.
