Teenager Alex flies to New York to stay at his grandmother’s. With his mum in treatment for cancer he has no idea what kind of woman his grandmother is. It turns out that she’s an adventuress and soon the two of them are off on an expedition to the Amazon.

This book is magical and the author paints a beautiful picture of the Amazon forest and culture of the people living there. She’s an amazing story teller.
