A couple arrive at a fishing village searching for help for their friends who are stuck on a sinking ship. But they find themselves in danger when they find the village is in the grips of an ancient sea and its half-human offspring.

This is an enjoyable adaption of the H.P. Lovecraft short story, with an additional plot. The film is dark and foreboding making it worthy of its cult status.
The acting is a bit stale, especially from the main actor who comes off very cheesy early on.
