Philadelphia Movie Review: A top lawyer (Tom Hanks) sues his firm as he believes he was unfairly dismissed. The events in the film are similar to the events in the life of attorney Geoffrey Bowers. In 1987, Bowers sued a law firm for wrongful dismissal in one of the first AIDS discrimination cases.
