This is the first film in the highly successful comedy series. A new mayor offers a motley crew of misfits the chance to oil the wheels of justice when he lifts the restrictions which normally apply when recruiting new members to the police force. The academy has the onerous task of knocking them into law-enforcing shape.

The Police Academy series is easy watching and the comedy is slapstick. The characters are great and you look forward to seeing them in each film.
Audiences may find the series rather dated now and some of the humour may miss the mark.
