Six Feet Under is set in a funeral home. The first series introduces the Fisher family, whose already weighty emotional baggage is bolstered by the sudden demise of their patriarch, who has willed the family funeral home to his two initially hostile sons, wayward Nate and in-the-closet David. Teenage younger sister Claire and repressed mother Ruth have their own problems, as does put-upon mortician Federico.

This is a brilliantly written black comedy drama series. The characters have depth and play off each other very well. Another series that will keep you wanting to know more.
